This mattress is great! I looked at many options before buying this one. My first priority was a mattress with springs. This has it, and plenty of them. My second priority was not having any foam, but unfortunately, the only mattress that had that appears to no longer be making it, so I went with this one based on all the reviews that I read. It does not disappoint.
The mattress was delivered exactly on the day they said it would, and in a sealed box. The weight might be a challenge for one person, but there are ways to get around that. I cut the box on one end, turned it upside down, and pulled the box up and off of it. Even though it states the weight at 80 lbs., it didn't seem like that, and being double wrapped in plastic, if you had to slide it to get it in place, as long as you were careful, you should be ok. I had a second person, so we each took one end to get it inside and on the bed platform in the trailer.
We definitely followed the instructions on placing the bed in the spot it was going to be first; before opening it. When the inner plastic layer is removed, it will expand very quickly. It might not be a big deal if you have space to work around, but in our trailer, there is no extra space.
I also watched several videos, based on the comments regarding how it pops open once the plastic covering is removed. I can see why some had problems, and the videos helped. It is suction packed with TWO layers of plastic.
I used a very small ceramic blade opener, similar to a letter opener, and had no problems at all. The first layer was easy as that layer had glue spots holding it to the inner plastic wrapping. After making the first cut in the outer layer, it was easy to pull it apart from the inner plastic layer until that was off.
After removing the outer layer of plastic, I slowly cut that inner layer expecting it to explode at some point. About half way through, you could feel the mattress starting to expand. At about three quarters, it is expanding even quicker. I did not go all the way to the end, but instead, let it be stuck in a corner until I knew it was placed right, and then pulled the corner off to allow the bed to completely open.
The outside material, especially the top, is very soft. The edging is no different than any mattress you would buy in a store. The stitching around the sides and edges looks strong. There are plenty of springs (coils) to support, and you can feel them on the underside of the mattress, and when pushing on the sides of the mattress, but they are not springs. They are coils.
There was absolutely no odor either before or after opening the mattress. As the description reads, you can sleep on it immediately after opening. That was a concern because every other mattress that I looked at said give it days before using. This mattress lived up to that description. We slept on it that night, after only being open and in place for about 4 hours.
As for the firmness. It is neither too firm nor too soft. Definitely middle of the road on that. It is very comfortable. It also really does not move when another person in the bed moves. That is a bonus because I am easily awakened when my husband gets out of bed or turns. He said the same thing. He did not feel me move or get out of bed either.
About the only negative that I have is not the fault of the manufacturer or the mattress. It is a "short" queen, which, unfortunately, is all we could fit in the trailer. Both of us found our feet hanging over the end of the bed, but we corrected that by using only one pillow instead of two. The way the trailer is designed (angled wall), the second pillow forced us lower in the bed.

I haven’t written a review before, but I felt I needed to for this mattress.
We’re new to the camping world, and one of the first things we noticed was how uncomfortable the RV mattress was. I struggle with hip pain, and the original mattress definitely didn’t help the situation.
After doing a lot of research, we decided to try the WanderRest mattress. I was skeptical because of the price—I assumed we would need to spend a lot more money to get something comfortable. That wasn’t the case at all!
The mattress shipped quickly and arrived earlier than expected. Setup was simple and straightforward. One concern I had was that it would give off a strong odor when unpacked. We had recently upgraded our mattress at home and had to open windows because of the smell. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case with the WanderRest.
We let it expand for a couple of days before sleeping on it, and from the first night, it was incredibly comfortable. Best of all, I slept through the night without hip pain.
I would highly recommend this mattress to anyone looking to replace their RV mattress and get a better night’s sleep while camping.

This is a great mattress! The movement isolation properties are amazing! I am very happy with the quality of this mattress and am very pleased to find such a nice mattress for my 5th wheel. It was difficult to find this specialty size of 70"x80" for less than $600.
The firmness level is a nice medium firm. The top layer of this mattress provides enough softness without affecting the much needed support of a mattress. My partner is 6'6" and I am 5'4" and we both sleep very comfortably on this mattress. Neither one of us have had such a restful sleep in a long time.
We live full time in our 5th wheel and both agree this has been a great investment.
Before we got this mattress, we were both suffering from shoulder and hip pain and now we wake up pain free.

The mattress received did not compare to the reviews that had been left prior to our purchase. The top of the mattress is lumpy and feel like huge air pockets. The edges of the bed has absolutely no support and collapsed by just pushing down on it. I have purchased several mattress in a box from other companies and have been very satisfied with the quality. This mattress is the worst quality and now trying to return it and I am just getting the run around. I follow all the instructions on Amazon which sends me to the manufacturing company. Days later they reply that they cant assist me with a return and directs me back to Amazon. There is nothing easy about their return or exchange policy. How do you return a mattress that was folded up in a box?? All while it states on Amazon that return or replacement must be done by June 17th.

Mattress is perfectly described! It was a very welcome change to our Grand Design RV. We enjoyed a much better night sleep each night during our first weekend getaway than with the mattress that came with our new to us RV. We would recommend this mattress to friends, and have during our initial campout with it. Firmness is perfect for us with very little sinking due to the hybrid construction. It was very easy to role out and open the vacuum seal bag eliminating the bulky mattress handling for installation!
